First Futsal Course Gives Good Reason To Smile

Hayward, CA, November 2009 – Love soccer, but now the dark, cold damp nights mean no more time to play, well think again, due to the start of a new indoor soccer program. Futsal Republic, located on Hesperian Blvd in Hayward, is an 18,000 sq ft futsal (five-a-side indoor soccer) facility that provides court rentals, competitive playing leagues for both youth and adults and now coaching courses. Famous Brazilian soccer players Ronaldinho, Kaka and Robinho all started their soccer adventure by playing futsal and contribute the sport to developing their soccer skills.

More than 40 children enjoyed the first Futsal Soccer course held in association with Futsal Republic & 24-7 Futsal Academy, part of 24-7 UK Soccer Academy.  The course was open to boys and girls aged U9 – U14. Players were put through their paces with quick pass and move related drills concluding with a chance to put their new skills to the test with a game.

This was the first of a number of planned courses and was enjoyed by all who attended. Currently teams aged from U10 through U16 are taking part in the Futsal leagues and along with other courses like the one in November, plans are also being made for a 10-week training program for U9 – U14 players starting in the New Year as well as other ball related sessions for the younger soccer stars of the future.
